Fire threatens resident
Joseph Nash, 32 of Lower Kalskag, is expected to face charges after allegedly setting a home on fire and threatening the life of its occupants, according to state troopers. On June 16 troopers were notified of a structure fire in Lower Kalskag. Investigation by the troopers and State Fire Marshall’s Office revealed that Nash had assaulted a household member, started a fire in the residence and placed a household member in fear of serious injury. The residence was total loss from the fire and Nash sustained non-life threatening injuries. Charges of arson, criminal mischief, assault, unlawful contact and violation of probation were sent to the district attorney’s office. Troopers report that alcohol was involved.
