Salmon and gear seized
On the Y-K Delta
A joint enforcement effort on the Lower Kuskokwim River by Alaska Wildlife Troopers and U.S. Fish and Wildlife officers on June 20 resulted in citations, and salmon and gear seizures, according to the troopers’ Website. The officers issued 33 citations for Subsistence Salmon Fishing During Closed Period. Seized were 1,100 pounds of salmon and 21 nets. All contacts in the effort were non-confrontational. The seized salmon was donated to local charities.
