Plane goes down near Quinhagak
On the Y-K Delta
A 1946 PA-12 Super Cub was unable to land on a gravel bar on the morning of July 6 and crashed into the river bank 5 miles north of Quinhagak on the Kanektok River, according to Alaska State Troopers. Neither the pilot, Michael Schoeder of Anchorage, or the passenger, Fred Tellen of Kenai, were injured. Troopers report that the damage to the airplane was substantial.
