YKHC dental staff reduced
On the Y-K Delta
Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation announced July 25 that dental staff at the organization will be reduced. “As we look forward to the fall and winter of 2012/2013, we are anticipating a decrease in the full-time dentist staffing available due to personal circumstances and some provider contracts expiring at the same time. The YKHC Dental Department expects to lose four full-time clinical dentists and two administrative dentists.
“We’d like to take this opportunity to thank the departing dental providers for their exceptional service to the Y-K Delta and their commitment to improving oral health in our region,” said President/CEO Gene Peltola in a press release. Dentist and Dental Director Dr. Brian Hollander added, “Our recruitment efforts have been strong to replace anticipated vacancies. We currently have six potential candidates interviewing, with four doing a site visit to the region in mid-August. We have had the great fortune of having 5.5 full-time dentists remaining on staff.”
