Direct care training offered
A training conference, Full Lives in Rural Alaska, is planned for Bethel. Trust Training Cooperative will present trainings focused on “Alaskan Core Competencies for Direct Care Workers in Health and Human Services.” The course is 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sept. 26-27 at Yupiit Piciryarait Cultural Center.
The three tracks offered are:
Track 1 for direct care/service providers (personal care attendants (PCA), chore providers, respite providers, BH aides, assisted living home staff). Competencies to be covered are 1, 4, 7, 8, and 9.
Track 2 for frontline workers (case managers, program managers, clinical associates, residential staff). Competencies to be covered are 2, 3, 4, 7, 8 and 9.
Track 3 for supervisors. Competencies to be covered 4, 9, 8 and 10.
The registration fee is $60 and breakfast and lunch are included. Registration is available online at www.ttclms.org.
