Cummings removed from court

Bethel District Court Judge Dennis Cummings was removed from the court by the Alaska Supreme Court on Jan. 18, according to an Associated Press report. The Alaska Commission on Judicial Conduct had recommended that Cummings be removed for ex parte communications with a prosecutor in 2011. Following the ruling Cummings can not be appointed to a judgeship for the next three years. Cummings retired in April.
