Governor visits; BRHS tops Get Schooled program
Governor Sean Parnell visited Bethel Regional High School last week and, along with student council members, held the banner to promote the Get Schooled program. The peer-led college promotion campaign is a nationwide effort to increase the rate of FAFSA completion among college-bound high school senior and engage ninth through 12 grade students in a variety of online activities that encourage them to plan for their future.
Get Schooled is a national nonprofit organization that leverages popular culture to encourage students to dedicate themselves to educational success.
The Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education, is participating in Get Schooled’s most recent challenge, through partnership with the National College Advising Corps and Bethel Regional High School. Six other Alaska schools are participating.
