Woman sentenced in Chefornak man's death

 


An Anchorage woman has been sentenced to 18 months in the death of a Chefornak man in April 2011. In the early hours of Easter Sunday 2011 in Anchorage, Ashley Bashore struck and killed 28-year-old Hubert Tunuchuk, who was from Chefornak, while driving a SUV on Tudor Road at the overpass of the Seward Highway, according to alaska-native-news.com. The 20-year-old woman drove away from the accident without rendering aid. Last week Bashore pleaded guilty to failing to help the victim after an accident, criminally neglegent homicide and tampering with physical evidence.

The man may have been drinking, but a life is a life. Only 18 months? wth, people go to jail longer for drug charges
