Governor to run again
Gov. Sean Parnell announced earlier this month that he plans to seek re-election to the state’s highest executive office in the 2014 election. Parnell, a Republican Party member, held the office of Lieutenant Governor in Gov. Sarah Palin’s administration. When Palin left the governor’s officer in 2009, Parnell stepped into the position. He then ran for the office in 2010 and won the election. Parnell, who holds a degree in law, has served in the Alaska legislature, worked as a lobbiest for ConocoPhillips.
