Little over one week left for Bethel Winter House
The Bethel Winter House, Bethel’s first serious attempt at a shelter for people without a home or place to stay, is nearing its end. The last night will be March 24 at the Covenant Church.
Organizers plan to open again next year, hopefully in a more permanent facility. They will be spending the off season assessing their options and applying for grants. So far, over $4,000 has been raised on the organization’s donation website, http://www.gofundme.com/Bethelshelter, and recently Calista cut a check for $3,600.
The Winter House has a few more slots for overnight volunteers. Shifts last from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. and can be split with another person. For information, contact Annie Valenziano at email@example.com.
